My 2 cents. . . what?

You didn't think I would have something to say?

Wrong.

MOPS is one ministry that offers an opportunity for all seasons of life.

It is not a "club".

It is not a "group".

It is a ministry.

"My kids are grown and gone." MOPS has a place for you.

"I am a young mother trying to survive!" MOPS has a place for you.

"I am new to the community." MOPS has a place for you.

"God has laid it on my heart to teach & share." MOPS has a place for you.

"I need help!" MOPS has a place for you.

"I have skills that I would like to pass on." MOPS has a place for you.

I read a book a time ago, and it said a little something like this:

Be genuine in building relationships. Don't see every unbeliever as a mission project. See each as a person with genuine needs, concerns, sorrows, and joys that you can appreciate and from whom you can learn. Care about them. Jesus didn't merely tolerate the multitudes as statistics for evangelism. Jesus looked upon and cared for the multitudes with compassion.

Build trust in the relationship. Let persons see your genuine concern for their well-being and interest in their lives.

If you are new to MOPS, if you are not new to MOPS, or if you are considering being a part of MOPS . . . consider it a challenge from the Lord. Not just another place to be. You all have something to offer. You all have an opportunity each meeting to reach out and show-off the Christ that is living inside of you.

And, of course, one of my all time favorites . . .

People don't care about what you know, until they know how much you care.

I wish MOPS a wonderful "season".

My prayer:

One MOM will feel and know Christ Love as a result of MOPS. Just one. More is great. But one can make a huge impact for Christ. . .

Love,

Tonia Hobbs
